Unraid Deck is built with a strict "Privacy First" architecture. It uses a 100% Direct Connection, meaning the app communicates directly from your iOS device to your Unraid server (via local IP or VPN/Tailscale) without routing through any third-party relay servers. Furthermore, your API keys and credentials are encrypted and stored exclusively on your local device using Apple's Secure iOS Keychain. We collect absolutely no telemetry or server data. You can easily verify this by checking your DNS logs or using a network monitoring tool like Pi-hole to see that the app only talks to the exact addresses you input.

Yes, absolutely! Unraid Deck works perfectly with Tailscale and other VPNs for remote access. If you encounter a connection or TLS error while using a Tailscale IP, please check the "Advanced Settings" when editing your server in the app. Ensure that the HTTPS port matches your Unraid settings (for example, setting the port to 443 often resolves Tailscale HTTPS issues).

Yes. Unraid Deck supports defining Custom HTTP Headers per server configuration, which is ideal for setups using authenticated reverse proxies like Authelia or Nginx Proxy Manager. Additionally, the app fully supports connecting via Self-Signed Certificates; you simply need to enable the "Allow Insecure Connections" toggle in the app's advanced server settings.

Unraid Deck is built for the new native API. For Unraid OS 7.2 and newer, log in to your Unraid WebGUI, navigate to Settings -> Management Access -> API, and toggle the API service to "Enabled". Click "Add Key" to generate a new API Key, and assign the necessary scopes (permissions) such as storage:read and docker:control. (Note: Unraid OS v6.12+ is supported, but v7.2+ is highly recommended for full API capabilities).

To enable push notifications, install the Unraid Deck Agent plugin on your Unraid server, then open Unraid Deck on your iPhone and turn on Push Notifications to generate your App Token. Finally, go to Unraid Notification Settings, enable the UnraidDeck agent, paste the token, and run a TEST notification.

Currently, updates must still be done via the Unraid Web UI. This is because the official Unraid API currently focuses on state management (Start/Stop/Restart/Logs) and does not yet expose an endpoint to trigger Docker or plugin updates. However, we are keeping a close eye on the API's development, and as soon as Unraid adds official support for updates, we will implement it immediately.

Currently, Unraid Deck is exclusively a native iOS/iPadOS/macOS application built entirely with SwiftUI. However, if the app continues to gain recognition and the user base grows, developing an Android version is something we will strongly consider for the future.
